September was an exciting month in Toddler 2 as we welcomed a new group of toddlers into our classroom. As the children became familiar with their new friends, educators, and routines, our outdoor environment provided a wonderful space for everyone to explore, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.
Our toddlers enjoyed spending time outdoors exploring the-sand, garden, flowers, and natural surroundings. They worked alongside one another, scooping and pouring sand into buckets, using shovels and other tools, and experimenting with different ways to move and transport the sand. The children were curious about what their friends were doing and often watched, imitated, and joined in their play. Toddlers showed a growing interest in nature as well. They explored the garden, looked closely at flowers and plants, and touched different natural materials.
Outdoor play also gave the children opportunities to move their bodies, climb, balance, and develop confidence. They enjoyed exploring the natural wooden structures and finding different ways to sit, climb, and play. As a new group, the children are beginning to learn how to play alongside each other, share space, and build new friendships.
