In September, our infants were invited to explore a beautiful sensory board especially for their curious little hands and growing minds.
With their tiny fingers and curious eyes, the infants explored a variety of colourful and interesting materials, including soft pom-poms, popsicle sticks, bubble wrap, contact paper, colourful beads, feathers, foam paper, and different foam shapes, giving our little ones many textures and colours to discover. As they reached, touched, grasped, and explored the board with their tiny fingers, they experienced textures that were soft, smooth, bumpy, fluffy, and different to the touch. The vibrant colours also encouraged them to look closely and visually explore their surroundings.
Sensory experiences like this are especially meaningful during infancy, as babies learn about the world through their senses. This activity supports sensory development, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, visual attention, curiosity, and early exploration. Watching our little gems discover each texture at their own pace was such a sweet and special experience, every tiny touch, curious look, and little reach was beautiful moment of learning.
